Stella Malfilatre is a queer self-taught Director and Photographer from Copenhagen, who has returned home after spending 8 years in London.
Her work centres around storytelling, and zooming in on the existing beauty in everyday life and loves personalities. Maintaing a connection to the people, both in front of and behind the camera, is instrumental to her work, and this is where she finds the fun in creativity and collaboration. Stella is comfortable finding creative ways to work in both the commercial and editorial realm, and enjoys the challenge of weaving human storytelling into brand projects.
Besides brand work, she takes inspiration from her studies at the Royal College of Art, and applies this in the anthropological focus of both her film making and photography.
Stella is also working on an ongoing body of photographic works called ‘Body Stories’ that documents and celebrates her subject's lived experience through imagery and essay.
