LE BOILING FROG

The Director, Nabil's words:

"The concept surrounding “The Boiling Frog” has always intrigued me - and it’s a poignant reminder in how it represents a globally shared pacifying state, during some of our most extreme and dire situations. In relation to our planet, but also in relation to the people we choose to love, and how we allow unimaginable negative circumstances into our lives, so long as it comes slowly and gradually enough.

Another aspect behind the film, are the differences in how we as humans perceive connections. More than ever those ways are questioned and challenged.

I wanted to explore alternate ways of communication and connection. Wether connecting online, in the physical world, or even in the transcendental world - all of those ways are bound to intertwine more fluently in the future. Communication will find its way and in my film we get a peak in to just that.

Weirdly enough, after a year in isolation, the world has opened up to a new plateau of intimate and abstract behavior, through the strengthened state of loneliness and longing."

I wanted to show just how normal some of our daily abstract behavior actually is.
